F-35 Paper Airplane

Folding Instructions

Step 1
  Start with a sheet of letter-size or A4 paper in landscape format.  Fold the paper in half and then unfold the paper. Fold the two top corners toward the center line.

Step 2
 Fold both sides to the center line.

 



 
Step 3
Turn over the model.
Step 4
Fold both sides to the center line and crease, then unfold. Turn over the model.

 


 

Step 5
Bring the bottom edge to the crosspoint X where the crease line and top layer sloping edge met. Crease and unfold. Then open the top layer.
Step 6
Fold the paper up along the crease line that you just made in step 5.
 
 

Step 7
 Fold the bottom edges to the crease line A along the diagonal folding lines as shown. Crease and unfold. Fold down the top layer.

Step 8
Fold both sides to the center line.

 




Step 9
Fold up the model along crease line while open the bottom part of the model. The top layer corner A goes to the point B. Likewise corner C goes to the point D while bottom sheet E edge goes to the point F. Top layer point 1 goes to the point 2 by folding along the diagonal folding line.Likewise 3 goes to the point 4.

Step 10
The resut of step 9 foldings looks like this. Turn over the model.

Step 11
Fold down the top layer along the second layer edge.
Step 12
Fold the model in half.
Step 13
Fold down the wing as shown in figure.

Step 14
Fold up the wing tip. (Note the edge meets the crease line)  Fold the wing up along the line C. Repeat step 13 for other side wing.

Step 15
Adjust the creases of the plane to match the front view profile. You may use tape to hold wings flat. Bend the trailing edge slightly up for better flight. The plane is reay to launch.
Step 13A
If you would like more realistic F-35 jet model, go back to step13 and follow steps 13A-15A. Cuttings are required as shown red lines. Mountain-fold the tail fin A and then fold down the wings.
Step 14A
Fold up the wing as shown in figure.

Step15A 

Adjust the creases of the plane to match the front view profile.
F-35 paper airplane is ready for display.
